What information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit the enquiry form we collect your name, work email address, organization, role, the type of requirement you select, the number and level of participants, your desired timing, your description of the organizational challenge, any optional message, and your consent to be contacted.
Information collected automatically
This site uses analytics cookies, but only if you accept them. No analytics cookie is set, and no analytics data is collected, unless you choose “Accept analytics cookies” on the banner shown on your first visit. If you reject them, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is collected.
Where you do accept, the information collected is limited and not used to identify you: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, the site that referred you, and your device and browser type.
You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Each cookie is listed individually in the cookie notice.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange an introductory discussion.
- To prepare a written proposal where there is a potential fit.
- To administer a coaching engagement, where one is agreed.
- To meet professional, insurance, accounting and legal obligations.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used.
We do not sell your information. We do not use enquiry details to add you to a marketing list without your separate, explicit agreement.
Coaching confidentiality
Information shared inside a coaching engagement is treated with a higher level of protection than a website enquiry. The content of coaching conversations remains confidential unless the participant explicitly agrees otherwise, and is not disclosed to the sponsoring organization. The limits of that confidentiality — risk of serious harm, or a legal requirement to disclose — are explained at the start of every engagement and are set out under our approach.
Who we share information with
Personal information may be shared with service providers who help operate the practice, such as the website host, the email provider, the form-delivery service and, where used, an assessment provider. Each acts on our instructions and is required to protect the information.
Assessment providers deserve specific mention. Where a Hogan 360° or MBTI instrument forms part of an engagement, responses are processed by that instrument’s provider, not by us alone. Participants are told this before completing any instrument, and no one is required to complete one.
A current list of the providers we use, and where each stores information, is available on request from alexandra@thewiderscope.com.
Transfers outside your country
The Wider Scope LLC is based in the United States, and our service providers may store information in the United States or elsewhere. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred there. Where that transfer is from the UK or the European Economic Area, it is made on the basis of appropriate safeguards with the provider concerned.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Records relating to an engagement are kept for as long as required by professional, insurance and accounting obligations, and then deleted.
In practice that means enquiries which do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 12 months, and records relating to a completed engagement are retained for 7 years to meet accounting, insurance and professional obligations, then deleted. Coaching session notes are kept only for the duration of the engagement and a short period afterwards, and are then destroyed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. To exercise any of these, email alexandra@thewiderscope.com.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Florida, that is the Office of the Attorney General. If you are in the United Kingdom, it is the Information Commissioner’s Office; if you are elsewhere in the European Economic Area, it is your national data-protection authority.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS, and access to enquiry data and engagement records is limited to Alexandra and to service providers who need it to operate the practice. No online transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, which is why the enquiry form asks you not to send medical information or urgent clinical detail through it.
Children
This website and these services are intended for professional and organizational use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
